Terms of service.

These terms govern the use of the Sincere Slack application and the sincere.bot website, operated by Orange Vector ("we", "us"). By installing or using Sincere, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and, if you install it into a workspace, the organization that owns that workspace.

1. The service

Sincere is an anonymous feedback tool for Slack: workspace members submit feedback via the /sincere command, messages are posted anonymously to a designated channel, and members vote on them anonymously. How anonymity works, and where its limits are, is described in our published design and privacy policy, both of which form part of these terms.

2. Acceptable use

Sincere exists for honest feedback, including blunt criticism. It may not be used for harassment, threats, hate speech, sexual content, doxxing, spam, or any unlawful purpose. Automated moderation screens submissions; we may suspend service to a workspace that systematically abuses the tool. Anonymity is a promise to honest users, not a shield for abuse. Note that our anonymity design means we cannot identify individual authors even on request.

3. Plans, billing, and trials

  • The free plan is available to workspaces under 50 members. Paid plans are flat-priced per workspace, as described on the pricing page.
  • Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial. No payment details are required for the trial.
  • Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record, which handles checkout, invoicing, and applicable taxes under its own terms.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancellation is self-serve and takes effect at the end of the paid period. See the refund policy.
  • If a subscription ends or lapses, paid features are disabled but anonymous posting and voting keep working for workspace members.

4. Your data

What we store, for how long, and how deletion works is described in the privacy policy and on the security & trust page. In short: feedback is stored without any link to its author, retained for at most 12 months, and all workspace data is deleted when you uninstall the app. A Data Processing Agreement is available on request.

5. Availability and changes

We target 99.5% monthly uptime but provide the service "as is", without a contractual availability guarantee on self-serve plans. We may change or discontinue features; if we materially reduce what a paid plan includes, we will notify the workspace's billing contact in advance. We will never retroactively weaken the anonymity guarantees for content that was already submitted.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for the content of feedback submitted by workspace members, or for decisions made based on it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount the workspace paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Termination

You can stop using Sincere at any time by uninstalling it from your workspace, which also deletes your workspace's data. We may suspend or terminate service for breach of these terms, with notice where practicable.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date below, and for paid workspaces, notified to the billing contact. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
